Protracted disaster relief program

FOCCAD is distributing relief food items with support from the World Food Program to 5249 food insecure households including pregnant and lactating women, children below 24 months, the elderly, chronically ill patient and orphans and vulnerable children. A total of over 29000 food insecure beneficiaries are receiving maize, beans, super cereal and vegetable oil. FOCCAD also includes education and awareness on nutrition, water and sanitation and hygiene, gender and social protection and social and behaviour change communication as part of the program. Over 64000 community members have been reached through information carnivals and others linked to complimentary activities for livelihoods including conservation agriculture, natural resource management, village savings and loans, food for assets programing and HIV and AIDS care and treatment services.
